The first hearing for the lawsuit that Zelena akcija/FoE Croatia and Zelena Istra filed against the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy's decision that the floating LNG terminal on Krk Island is environmentally acceptable was held yesterday (26.11.2018.) at the Administrative Court in Rijeka.

The new report "Looting 2.0: supporting state capture at the Krk gas terminal", prepared by Counter Balance and Re:Common, and supported by Zelena akcija/FoE Croatia and Friends of the Earth Europe, reveals alleged hidden interests behind the Krk LNG project, i.e. how private interests have had a significant impact on the decision-making process in the project.

After a big fire in the termal power plant (TPP) Plomin which occured on May 29th 2017, information emerged that, due to the damage caused by the fire, it is questionable whether TPP Plomin 1 will ever be operational again. Green Action demands that any attempt to restart the work of Plomin 1 is abandoned, that all information on pollution as a result of the fire is disclosed, and that the citizens get reparations for any damages they have suffered.

After five years of campaigning against the construction of the harmful coal power plant 'Plomin C', we achieved a big victory! The Minister of Economy, Tomislav Panenić, has stated that the realisation of this project has been canceled. We are sure that after convincing arguments against the construction and the circumstances that occurred, the Government had no other choice but to stop 'Plomin C'.
