An important part of working on the topic of the climate crisis is advocating solutions such as renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. Primarily, our goal is to develop and promote models of so-called community energy in Croatia.
The concept of community energy includes a vision of energy based on efficiency, renewable sources, decentralisation and flexibility, which, in addition to environmental sustainability, would also contribute to social sustainability of the society. Also, community energy implies a high level of ownership of local actors (citizens, energy cooperatives, companies owned by local governments…) over energy production capacities as well as encouraging and ensuring access to national energy infrastructure services.
In addition, we conduct projects, educational activities and practical workshops on renewable energy sources.
Some of the most significant results of the work on this topic:
more than 30 years of advocating for more ambitious and faster integration of renewable energy sources into public policies and their application in practice;
Solar Academy on Šolta established with a rich educational program (from 2005 to present);
about a million views on two video manuals for building your own solar collectors (2014 and 2015);
installed solar systems in households without electricity in Sisak-Moslavina County (2020).
"Ray of Sun - Light of Hope" (2020)
