MATRA project - Capacity building and networking among environmental NGOs and youth in South Eastern Europe with FOEI experience

Our objective is to increase environmental protection and citizens' participation in environmental decision-making in South Eastern Europe. The goals of the projects are:

1. To strengthen the capacity of SEE environmental NGOs in their campaigning skills so they can increase public awareness and engagement in environmental issues through campaigns
2. To educate and motivate young environmental leaders in the SEE region on campaigning and environmental issues
3. To increase networking of SEE environmental NGOs with the FOEI network and with each other in the SEE region

During these three years we will:

• Organise Summer camp trainings and a skills-share at Šolta educational facility, Croatia
• Implement one to three Croatian national campaigns focused on the topics of environmental importance provide education, support and finances for six national campaigns conducted by SEE environmental NGOs at a national level in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia
• Publish  a campaigning tool-book (how to run an environmental campaign in the SEE region
• Organize a Young FOEE climate campaign training in Croatia for 60 young environmental activists in Europe and SEE region
• Create and moderate a communication platform for young SEE environmental activists
• Organize  Environmental education seminars for Croatian activists
• Produce Environmental activism manual
• Produce Environmental activism DVD
• Sett up a communication platform for exchange of campaigning experience among NGOs;
• Organize Field visits and skills share among groups linked to campaign activities (mentorship to groups).
• Actively  involve FoE Croatia in FOEI activities, FOEE and FOEE Youth;
• Organise visits of SEE NGOs and facilitate their participation in the activities of the FOEI, FOEE and FOE Youth.
