Panel discussion "What is happening with our squares?"
On March 16th in cooperation with Right to the city initiative we have organized pannel discussion „What is happening with our squares?“. In front of over 150 citizens, several prominent experts (Nenad Fabijanić, Snješka Knežević, Zlatko Uzelac, Borislav Doklestić and Vera Petrinjak Šimek) have raised their voices against controversial reconstruction of squares in Zagreb and their negative urbanistic and sociological consequences.
Most of those reconstructions are made (and planned to be made) in a way to satisfy needs of cars, so the experts on the panel discussion clearly propounded disadvantages of that approach, and demanded to put pedestrian needs in the centre of urban design of squares.
