Zelena Močvara on June 19 in the club Močvara
Zelena akcija/FoE Croatia and club Močvara invite you to "Zelena Močvara" on June 19, a half-day entertainment and music event. Expect an exhibition, a fun quiz and performances by great bands in Močvara! Entrance is free.
"Zelena Močvara" is held as part of the project "School of Sustainability", and aims to present the works of students of the School of Art, Design, Graphics and Clothing Zabok, School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb and Classical Gymnasium in Zagreb created during the project and promote sustainable development through educational and informative content.
As part of this project, beautiful posters for the Environmental Film Festival were created, as well as the third, student, edition of Homo Climaticum, a collection of climate fiction. The public will be able to see the exhibition of student work during "Zelena Močvara" from 12 to 9 p.m. Plus, from 4 to 6 p.m., join a fun eco-quiz and learn something new. For the most successful, prizes will be provided! Register your team for the quiz via this short online form.
After the quiz, from 7 to 10.15 pm you will be able to enjoy concerts of great bands.
Commi Balde & Kaira Kela, a "local", afro groove band gathered by the Senegalese musician Ismaila Commi Balde, and who has also performed with Seckou Keita in his career, will perform at 7 p.m. Kaira Kela performs exclusively original songs in the Mandinka language based on traditional West African rhythms and melodies, but also "charged" with Western musical styles.
At 8 pm, the folk-electronic trio Seine will perform, backed by Ivan Ščapec (Vlasta Popić), Dimitrij Petrović (Vlasta Popić, Radost!) And, more recently, Vatroslav Živković (Nemeček, litl itali). So far, they have released two very successful albums ("Sno Sna" and "22") and have done about fifty concerts and several tours. In recent years, Seine has turned to math and trip hop rhythms, and from the poetic preoccupations of the intimate and the individual, he has shifted his focus to the dystopian and the political. He is currently working on his third album, which is scheduled for release in the fall of 2021.
At the end of the evening, from 21:15 you will be entertained by the synthpop duo Pocket Palma. Inspired by the retro sound of the 80's, after the Side Project where they created in English, Anja and Luka turn to songs in Croatian, gaining the attention of listeners and music critics as very promising young musicians. A few days ago, they released a new single, "Forever", announcing their upcoming second album.
"Zelena Močvara" will be held in the large yard of Močvara & Pogona Jedinstvo (concert) and in the club Močvara (exhibition and quiz), Trnjanski nasip b.b. The entrance is free, but you need to register for free tickets for the concerts starting from Thursday, June 17, at 10 a.m.
This is the last event within the project "Schools of Sustainability", which began on May 1, 2019, and ends on June 30, 2021.
This event is also part of the "World in Zagreb, Zagreb to the World" campaign, in which Zelena akcija and Močvara are included as members of the Upgrade Platform.
