The goal of the campaign "Kontra LNG" (against LNG) is to stop the realisation of the LNG terminal project on the island of Krk - including the floating and onshore terminal - as well as all the new supporting infrastructure in Croatia. This project is not only harmful to the environment, climate, tourism, etc., it is economically unprofitable and unsustainable.

The expansion of the Krk LNG terminal is an unnecessary and long-term expensive investment, especially since the USA, as the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), has just suspended permits for new export terminals.

Companies like LNG Croatia make money from pollution, and the gas they bring and we use in households is poisoning us and our families.

By signing the contract to increase the capacity of the Krk LNG terminal by one hundred per cent, the Croatian Government and its Minister Filipović agree to deepen the climate crisis, energy insecurity, robbery of public money and further instigation of conflicts in other countries.

Further investments in new gas projects and supply routes will not save us from the energy crisis, but will doom us to a climate catastrophe which will be difficult to get out of.
