The Natural Resources Protection Programme was launched in 2000 (then called the Nature Protection and Biodiversity Programme) with the desire for Zelena akcija to work more on nature protection.

Green Action/FoE Croatia in cooperation with partners from the region and the world began with the implementation of the project Advocacy NGOs networks for sustainable use of energy and natural resources in the Western Balkans and Turkey.

MATRA project - Capacity building and networking among environmental NGOs and youth in South Eastern Europe with FOEI experience

Friends of the Earth International and Zelena akcija / FoE Croatia have started this joint three-years project in May 2009. The project has been funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Netherlands.

At a press conference held at Hotel Bosna representatives of environmental NGOs called on the Government of Republic of Srpska to meaningfully protect Sutjeska National park, a unique pearl of the European landscape that is threatened by planned hydropower plants

Ombla must be protected, not flooded!

Yesterday the consultancy firms Oikon and Geonatura presented a new nature impact assessment study for the environmentally and economically risky Ombla hydropower plant in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The study had been commissioned by project promoter HEP at the request of the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection and was met with a full hall of members of the public.

Coal is leading us into climate chaos!

Today Green Action (Friends of the Earth Croatia) activists performed a protest performance entitled „Climate Chaos“, in Zagreb. The performance was part of the world-wide Day of Action against coal, organized in over 50 countries. This performance illustrated future, but also current, impacts of climate change in Croatia, and the rest of the world.

Give up on the TP ‘’Plomin C’’

Today (10.4.2014.) the Green action, Greenpeace and Green Istria activists have protested in front of the Croatian government, demanding for the construction of Plomin C thermal power plant operating on imported coal, to be abolished. By setting up a 6 meters high model of the human lungs, they have pointed about the negative health effects such power plant would have.
