Coal is leading us into climate chaos!

Today Green Action (Friends of the Earth Croatia) activists performed a protest performance entitled „Climate Chaos“, in Zagreb. The performance was part of the world-wide Day of Action against coal, organized in over 50 countries. This performance illustrated future, but also current, impacts of climate change in Croatia, and the rest of the world.

Action: Zagreb incinerator EIA approval faces legal challenge, 01.12.2006

Croatian environmental group Green Action has launched a legal appeal against the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed 385 000 tonnes per year Zagreb incinerator, on the grounds that it was approved without a public consultation.

In an Open letter to the Croatian Parliament Green action (GA) has asked for improvements of the law proposal. We stated that for Croatia it is not necessary to produce or grow GMOs. We asked for public participation in decision-making process, more transparency and better access to information.
